3 killed, 5 injured in Pagadian City road mishap – #JHedzWorlD




Police said the truck was speeding when the driver lost control while going down a slope in the highway.



ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – At least three people, including two women, were killed, while five others were injured when a speeding cargo truck slammed into a coconut tree in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur on Tuesday.


 


Chief Superintendent Miguel Antonio Jr., Western Mindanao police director, said the incident occurred about 2:30 a.m. along a downward slope on the highway in Barangay Balintawak.


 


Antonio said the six-wheeler truck with plate number LFG-797 driven Alexander Ignacio Yubal and carrying seven passengers slammed into a coconut on the roadside when Yubal lost control of the vehicle.


 


He said three victims died on the spot while five others, including the driver, were injured.


 


Antonio identified two of the fatalities as Elenita Cambarijan Perez and a certain Nadzfar. Police have yet to identify one of the women who died in the accident.


 


Those wounded and who were rushed to the hospital were Eddiemar Wae Oma, Hanna Usama, Farida Mandanga, Tommy Ruyanah and Yubal, who later surrendered to the police.
